Innate well-being

How are you doing?

There was a report out recently about the signs that a person is doing really well in life.

It included things like reaching a high level in your job, being a high earner, being married, having children, keeping yourself fit, eating well, having a clear vision, having people to whom you can delegate.

But anyway, enough about Hitler.

Let’s talk about you and me and how we really know how we are doing with our lives.

Because let’s face it we can tick all the boxes of apparent outward success and k…

Denial, delusion and don't even go there

The coaching I do is based on the understanding that the reality we experience is an ever-changing projection of thought and that the only truth ultimately is that of the awareness of that experience, consciousness itself.

And this gives rise to some big questions.

Is there actually bad stuff going on in the world or is it all just a projection? Do people harm others or is there no one to hurt or to be hurt?

If we believe it is just a projection will we just sit around saying ‘tra la la’ while p…

Let’s go all the way

You know how when things get started and it’s amazing and it carries on and it is even more amazing and you’re thinking ‘keep going’ and then suddenly it stops and you’re a bit, ‘…???’

You know that?

That’s what we’re talking about today.

And we’re talking about it in relation to thought, free will and reality.

(Anyone who opened this and carried on reading it because of title and first sentence now switches to one of those more interesting websites).

So for you remainers… here’s the thing. Once we g…

If I’m the entire creative power of the universe then why am I such a loser?

One of the phrases that comes up a lot in the coaching field is that we are the creative potential of the universe.

I remember hearing this and feeling like the biggest loser on earth, actually make that… well… in the universe.

I looked around at my life and thought I can’t even create a new client or a steady income or a waistline that is even close to pre-pregnancy or a good relationship. I can’t create a proper business or a tidy house or a reliable arrival at school on time.

So not only was…

How to change the world

There is only one way to change the world.

There is only one way to change any other individual.

There is only one way to change any system or address any issue or correct any injustice.

There is only one way and it can happen in an instant or take a lifetime.

The only way to do any of this is to see who we really are.

And I know that sounds demented, delusional and like flat-out denial (the 3D’s instead of the 3P’s?).

Because look at the headlines! Well flick through the first 15 pages about cele…

The commentary box

“And here she comes up on the left side. She’s had a bad season so she probably doesn't have it in her. Plus she’s been eating too many wispa bars and so she’s not going to even fit in the dress she bought for the event this weekend. AND she’s going to it on her own so not only will she be not fitting into her dress, she will be standing like a lemon in a corner. What she should do now is to not eat and exercise all week. And be better at keeping husbands. Oh look now another wispa bar. What a l…

I coach from the understanding that the reality we live in is a projection. That our entire experience of self, life, other and world is created in thought.

This means there is nothing ‘out there’ there to deal with.  There is just a creation from a state of mind. It is thought that creates our fears, insecurities, worries, anxieties and…

Hold on. Can you hear that sound?

It sounds like burglars, con-merchants, terrorists, business competitors, opposing teams, national enemies rubbing their hand…

'Be Yourself!' 'OK but who the hell am I?'

Authenticity is a big buzz word. “Be yourself” we keep getting told. And that would be great of course…

if we knew who we are.

The more I coach people and the more I explore the nature of the self and reality and our understanding of ourselves, the clearer it is to me that if we think we know who we are then we are surely missing out.

It is the opposite of accepted wisdom (build yourself up, create your identity, stamp your personality on a meeting or the world) but in my experience the most d…

Who takes the bins out in your house?

[Disclaimer: this isn’t an article about male and female jobs because we all moved way beyond that long ago didn’t we..? Didn’t we…?]

After decades of searching for a solution to anxiety, confusion and general ill-at-ease-ness, I came across something called (among other things) ’The inside out understanding’.

This states that there is no objective reality.

It tells us that all experience is thought brought alive in consciousness.

It tells us that nothing we perceive is real.

The slight problem with …

When Perfect met Potential.

Harry and Sally. A man and a woman, opposite in every way, on paper resolutely incompatible. To begin with they are unable to even be in the same room without arms folding, eyes rolling, doors slamming.

Yet, as they get to know each other, it is obvious: they are meant to be together.

So it is with perfect and potential.

At first, they seem utterly incompatible.

Perfection. Everything exactly right, right now.

Potential. The end of what is.

Surely the two cannot even exist at the same moment, let alon…
